When we are searching for the best investment opportunity, we often come across the term "BLUE CHIP FUND."

We already have knowledge about regular companies and their stocks, but BLUE CHIP companies are somewhat different for us.,

Today , We will learn about BLUE CHIP companies and BLUE CHIP FUNDS.

First, let's understand how the name "BLUE CHIP" originated...

In some foreign countries, there is a game called POKER, which involves using chips of different colors. Among them, the blue chip holds the highest value.

We can compare the stock market to the game of POKER, where the most valuable asset is the BLUE CHIP. Similarly, In the stock market, the most valuable companies are referred to as BLUE CHIP companies, hence the name.

Next, let's delve into what BLUE CHIP companies are.

A company is considered a BLUE CHIP company if it possesses the following characteristics:

  • It has a higher market value and a strong reputation in the market.
  • These companies are often categorized as LARGE CAP companies.
  • The company's cash flow is very good.
  • The company expands its operations in multiple locations.
  • Even during times of crisis, the company continues to generate profits.
  • The company has little to no debt.
  • BLUE CHIP companies are known for paying dividends consistently. Additionally, their DIVIDEND YIELD is usually favorable.
  • They can handle the most critical situations effectively.
  • BLUE CHIP companies often have a long-standing tradition and extensive experience in their respective fields.
  • These companies not only dominate their industry but also hold a dominant position within that industry.

Investing in BLUE CHIP companies reduces the risk of losing our money (RISK) because these companies have the capability to overcome any situation and get back on track. Therefore, investing in these companies is considered relatively safe.

However, the returns we receive from these companies are similar to those of other companies.

Individuals who prefer to minimize their RISK can choose to invest in such companies.

It is important to note that RISK is always present in the stock market and applies to all types of companies.

Lastly, let's learn about BLUE CHIP FUNDS...

As we discussed earlier, BLUE CHIP companies are those highly regarded companies. When a fund is created exclusively with these BLUE CHIP companies, it is referred to as a BLUE CHIP FUND.

This rule is called the 80/20 Rule.      According to this rule, 80% of the results come from 20% of the actions.  It was discovered by a person named Vilfredo Federico Damaso Pareto, so it is also known as the Pareto Principle.
